Bessette was recognized by Louisiana Contractor magazine as one of the top 50 general contractors in Louisiana and was also recognized as one of the top 50 privately owned businesses in the 5 parish area of Southwest Louisiana.

In 1999, Bessette Development Corporation received the Eagle Award presented by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The Eagle Award is awarded annually to a company based on quality business principles and public service.
